Designing the one percent products space.
Since most halls have notoriously high ceilings, exhibition designers usually attach spotlights to temporary walls and pillars to make sure each product is properly lit. We were worried that this would also make the space feel enclosed, even claustrophobic, so we took another route, and covered the floor with a printed film whose pattern mimics the light and shadows thrown by spotlights.
As a result, each product stands out, and the space feels masterfully illuminated without having sacrificing its spaciousness. Each “shadow” was designed to emphasize the particular nature of the individual products, as a kind of intuitive, non-verbal explanation for them.
