With their varying heights and diameters and digitally-produced patterns like wood bark, the pieces in this furniture series recall tree stumps.
The solid linear metal pieces in the series are a visual play on the 'wireframes' of 3D software, while the volumes of the soft, smooth fabric-covered ones project a strong sense of surface.
By combining these oppositional elements--line and surface, nature and artifice, soft and solid--we hoped to generate objects that exist in an ambiguous space between nature and digital expression.
