litmus-garden

2005.12

litmus-garden's sketch

A miniature garden created in collaboration with the magazine BRUTUS. We used litmus paper, which turns pink when exposed to an acidic substance, for the container. When the garden is exposed to the rain, it changes colour over time, exposing the existence of acid rain. It's easy to overlook the existence of acid rain, but this makes the problem literally visible. By casting the advancing problems of environmental degradation onto a box garden, a tiny encapsulation of nature, we hope our litmus-garden will help us to rethink the relationship between people and nature.
