for Moroso

With their varying heights and diameters and digitally-produced patterns like wood bark, the pieces in this furniture series recall tree stumps.
The solid linear metal pieces in the series are a visual play on the ‘wireframes’ of 3D software, while the volumes of the soft, smooth fabric-covered ones project a strong sense of surface.
By combining these oppositional elements–line and surface, nature and artifice, soft and solid–we hoped to generate objects that exist in an ambiguous space between nature and digital expression.
