single-bookshelf

A bookshelf the size of a single book. Three different shapes are designed as a little “resting space for items” to temporarily place books to be read, as well as magazines, documents, smart phones, and other small items around the desk.

The vertical design allows things to be inserted from the side like a book cover, or from the top like a storage pocket in a car or airplane seat. In the latter, by shifting the position of the pillar from the center, the book can be moved around the room as if it were held under one’s arm. The horizontal type is available in two heights: as a side table for placing things on top, or as a storage space for hiding items like remote controls. Each of these products aimed to be “more than home accessories, but less than furniture.”
